WORKMEN'S TRAINS.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Possibly the Minister for Railwayrefusal to extend workmen's trains to districts where it is possible workmen's means will enable them to live is influenced from the same source that Mr Valla suggests has misled the Hon. J. G. Ward re the success of the Zone system in Hungary, and other places. The absurd limitation of workmen's trains to districts which only benefit the residents calls for moro effort on the part of Auckland members than has hitherto been shown, as hundreds of workers are only waiting for the opportunity to enable them to live outside city. Apparently Auckland members do not see with the Premier the necessity of relieving the congestion in the city, otherwise there surely would have been some attempt to get the workmen's trains running to a district where it was possible for working men to participate in the benefits.—l am, etc., DISAPPOINTED CITY WORKER.
