ALLEGED SHOOTING CASE
Inspector Cullen to-day, received ,a t«le*gram from.the constable at MongX>nui stating that a niun named Williani Gardiner had arrived frohii Fairburn^ inland from Mongonui,- and had alleged that he had'been fired at three^ times by a mpnamed1 Rogers. The second shot took effect in the shouldc er, but the wound was'not serious, The constable proceeded out to Fairburn to-day to arrest Kogers. Our Mongonui correspondent wires that, the 'parties are. rival, .carriers, and that jealousy was the" cause of, the quarrel. : >. ; , XX
