Committed for Trial.—Samuel "Patrick Moody was charged with; having on August 9th of last year indecently assaulted a girl under, the. age,of 16 years. The Hon. J. A. Tole, Crown Prosecutor, appeared for the prcsecur tion, and Mr Theo. Cooper for the de-: fence. After hearing evidence in support of the charge, His Worship committed accused to take his trial at the Criminal Sittings of the Supreme Court, commencing next week. . ' .. By-Law Cases.—Angelo San tor o was fined £1 for neglecting to register his dog. William Wrennels 'was fined 5/ and costs, and Walter Preston 5/ without costs, for leaving their carts unattended.- Thomas B. AnnieWilley was fined 5/ or 24 hours hard labour, and Mary Ann Gibbs £1 or 7. days. , Obstructing the Police.—Florrie Barnden was fined £1 or 7 days hard labour for obstructing Cpnstable O'Sullivan in the execution of his duty. ' / Vagrancy. —Two girls named Jessie McCartney and Ada Morris were charged with being idle and disorderly persons, with insufficient lawful means of support. Sub-Inspector Wilson said both girls had been admitted to the Salvation Army Home, but McCartney had run away from the Home! and afterwards persuaded Morris to leave' also. The Salvation Army authorties were willing;,,to. take the girl Morris back, but no|«;the other one.
