EMINENT PHYSICIAN SUCCUMBS.
DIED SEEVING HIS COUNTEY. (Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, August 20. Sir William Stokes, the eminent surgeon, has died suddenly at Pietermaritzburg. He went to South Africa early in the war as consulting surgeon to the army.
