In the junior competition on Saturday Hamilton defeated Terapa, at Terapa, by 17 points to nil. Tries were scored by Castleton, Davey, Inne.i and F. Windsor (2), one being converted. Ngaruawahia played Huntly, at Huntly. The latter won by 3 to nil. A try for the winners was scored by Lovell. Waipa Rugby Union were to meet Te Awamutu on Saturday, but the secretary of the Waipa Union received ay telegram at noon on Friday from the Piako Union stating that the Piako rep. team was unable to fulfil the engagement at Te Awamutu the following day. No further communication having been received, it was dpcided to write asking the reason for the non-appearance". The Paterangl Club was declared the winner of the Cup contest. The rep. match Waipa v. Waikato is to be played on Saturday next. The following were chosen to represent the for-mer:—Full-back, R. McDonald; threequarters, F. Bowden, S. C. Macky, Relinl; five-eighths;, L. Macky; half-back, H. Chalmers; wings, A. Carley, G. Allcock; forwards, J. North, Turner, Phillips, W. Kay, Hicks, and W. Smith.
