MISS DORA JUDSON'S CONCERT.
The third of Miss Dora? Judson's piano recitals tpok place in the Choral Hall last evening', before- a large audience. The programme vvas attractive as it was varied, and the performers mot with v very cordial reception. Miss Judson did not spare herself, being down for no less than seven pianoforte .-ok.:-;, besides accompanying tin' vocal ami Instrumental items. | Her rendering of ' Beethoven's famous "Sonata Pathetique" was intelligent and expressive, anil the lighter nuinbe,rs, Rubinstein's "Barcarole in A Minor," Heller's "Studies in G Minor and B Flat,"' and Moskoivski's "Etincclles," were given with a charming erlspness of touch. The Chopin music—"Nocturne in F Sharp," "Study in G Flat," and •'Ballade in A Flat"—was treated .sympathetically and won loud applause for the talented youngperformer. Tho vocalist of the evening was Mr Hamilton Hodges, who sang with rare taste and feeling Chamiuude's "The Ideal" and "Ritornelle," and Mendelssohn's "On Winga My Fancy Ranges," and "An Old Love Song." Mr Hodges had to respond to an encore after each appearance. Schubert's beautiful quartette for strings In E flat major was played with admirable smoothness by Dr. Cox, Messrs A. L. Kreutzer, J. Wallett and Judge Edger, and these gentlemen, with Miss Judson, also playted Schumann's quintette for piano and strings in E flat major.
