Henry Hunter complains of the unfriendly attitude of a great section of the audience at the Samson-Newton weight-lifting contest to the local competitor. He concludes: "I never was in the company of such a disreputable mob before, and hope never to be again. If that was a specimen of the youth of our rising generation I am entirely ashamed of them." \
M. A. Ferri charges the Austrian boarding-house keepers with being largely responsible for the recent influx of Austrians.
"Justice" and "Interested" give their views on the servant question, but in both cases their argument is unintelligible.
