RELIGIOUS WORKER'S FORTITUDE.

In Mrs Jane Boot}' the Salvation Army possess a soldier of more than ordinary experience and fortitude. Mrs Booty complacently gave an account of her experiences, during the last 15 years, to a reporter who., called upon her at her residence, Clapham House, Mary Street, St. Peters, N.S.W. "In addition to being a Sergeant, I am Instructor to the Girls' Class in my district," said Mrs Bpoty, "and attend open-air meetings in all weathers. Some years ago I became debarred from attending these meetings, however, for the cold air always brought on acute neuralgia, for my nerves were unstrung owing to the death of my husband and business worries. Sometimes the attacks would last for 48 hours; the pains seemed to pass up my spine and clutch my head behind the. ears till my brain felt as if it were being squashed flat. Every nerve was on the rack, and I lay groaning and crying in desperation. My son would sit up and bathe my head, thus giving me a little relief. My appetite failed, I could not sleep properly, and I became thin and pale. Through all these years, the attacks came about once a week. Heart palpitation troubled me, making me quite faint, and I suffered from constipation and rheumatism in the knees, which were so weak that if I knelt down I required assistance to get up again. I tried every remedy advertised without effect. Several medical men, after consultation, declared my case chronic, and said they could do me no good. Noticing Dr. vVilliams' pink pills advertised to cure neuralgia, I sent for three boxes and commenced them.- The first neuralgic attack after taking them was not nearly so acute as usual, so I continued them. In a few weeks I began to gain flesh; my colour improved; my appetite returned, and I was able to sleep better. The pain first lessened, and then gradually subsided. Now I am completely free from neuralgia. None of my clothes fit me, I am so plump and well, and ,for the first time in the last five years I can safely go out alone. My friends think Dr. Williams' pink pills a medicinal wonder, for they know how greatly I suffered." Business worries and family troub- | les induce neuralgia, as in Sergeant Booty's case, for they lower the sys- ; fern, cause 4 the nerves to become un- ; strung, and produce a vitiated condition of the blood, line;, pain then ', becomes provoked by cold or damp, IBy restoring the nerves and enriching the blood Dr. Williams' pink pills drive neuralgia from the system. In the same way they cure rheumatism, sciatica, erysipelas, scrofula, eczema, anaemia, ladies' ailments, vital losses, rickets, etc. Sold by the Dr. Williams' Medicine Co., Wellington, three shillings per box, and by chemists and storekeepers—But mind you ask for Dr. Williams'. Substitutes are valueless. '
