VOLUNTEER NOTES.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

COROMANDEL, this day. ! The military ball, under the auspices of the Coromandel1 Rifle Volunteers, held last evening in the Caledonian Hall, was a most successful function. About 150 persons were present. The hall was tastefully decorated with flags, mirrors and evergreens, and arms and accoutrements were displayed in neat devices about the room. Excellent music was supplied by Messrs J. Hackett (piano), W. H. French (cornet) and R. Dalton (violin).
