CHILD RUN' OVER BY A TRAM! CAR, ,

DUNEDIN, this day. A shocking accident occurred herej last evening, when a child of Mr James , ;l Westwdod was run over by a tram car in Cargill Road, South Dunedin. The child was knocked down, and fell un* der the horses' <feet. Before the driver ' could stop the car it had passed over •both of the child's legs below the knee. Dr. Coughesy, who was passing, : , , attended to the sufferer. He ampu-> ;_; tated the right foot, and-the left leg ' 0 above the knee. "The child died at U o'clock.
