HARBOUR BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board was proceeding this afternoon when we went to press. Mr J. T. Julian presided in the absence of Mr Niccol (acting-chairman), and the following members were also present: Messrs J. C. Macky, J. Stichbury, J. Thornes, W. Philson, C. Grey. A. R. Harris, A. Alison, and C. C. Dacro. The last two named are the newly elected members of the Board. A letter was read from Captain J. Simpson, of the s.s. Star of Australia, asking for a refund of fees charged in connection with pilotage to and from the quarantine station, Captain Duder (harbour master) submitted a report on the matter. It was stated that, all the large steamers^ visiting here paid two pilotages—to and from Motuihi. It was decided to refuse the | request for the refund of fee.
