STOKE ORPHANAGE INQUIRY.

(By Telegraph-—Press Association,

(Continued from page 3.)

NELSON, this day

The scope of the enquiry by the St. Mar^ Commission has been extended by the Government, to five years, although the Charitable Aid Board definitely stated by wire on Saturday that they were satisfied with the enquiry and did not wish for an extension. Mr Wardell went to Wellington last Friday and has not returned. Mr Bush sits tomorrow morning, and announces by advertisement that the Commission will bo prepared to hear further, or any complaints, relating- to the institution within an extended period. It is probable that the Board will not take further action, but to-day being a close holiday here, no decision is yet available.
