WAIHI.
FORESTERS' BALL,
The local lodge of Foresters held their annual ball in Tanner's building on Friday night, and it certainly proved one of the most brilliant functions yet seen in Waihi. The hall was completely transformed by many tastefully arranged curtains, and flags, the stage being decorated with Chinese lanterns, which made the effect all the more striking. There were present about two hundred and' eighty people, and as many as ninety couple danced. The dresses of the ladles were exceptionally pretty. All friendly soctetles in Walhi were represented. The supper tables were arranged in the lodge room at the end of th 6 hall. The music ■was supplied by Williams and Booth's String Band from the Thames. Messrs Morgan, Gregory and Barstow played the extras. Mr W. Corbett was master of ceremonies, and attended Assiduously to the wants of the assemblage. The following committee worked hard during the evening: Bros. Simms, Palmer, Morgan, Corbett, Paul, Ailspil, Cullen, Hartley, Wood, McLeod, Gregory and Cathey.
