'The Commander of the Italian warships at Takn announces the receipt of a despatch from Sir Claude Mac Donald, datekl the' 26th, !ini which the British Ambassador declared the Ministers, on the 20th June, declined the Yamen's renewed suggestion that they should leave Pekin. i WASHINGTON, "August 2.
A despatch from fPekin, dated July 23rd, states that Captain Meyers, of the American Guards, was fatally wounded in a sortie on July 3rd. .
HONGKONG, August 2
M. DeCartier Demanchienne, the Belgian Charge d'Affaires at Shanghai, telegraphs a report that the Europeans in Pekin had refused to enter the Imperial city. " NEW YORK, August 2.
The Chicago "Record" publishes a message from Pekin dated July 21 announcing that all the Legations, except the British Legation, had been wrecked by shot and shell.
