THE SECOND CONTINGENT.

WELLINGTON, Thursday.
The Commander of the Forces has received the following cablegram from Major Cradock;— "Regret to xc-,
pprt the death of Trooper W. J. Goodland, at Kroonstat), from enteric fever. Lieutenant Findlay was wounded in the leg. His wound is not serious (sister, Mrs 'Allan, Eltham, Ttaranaki). Have returned to Middelburg. Contingent is inider Mahon."
The death of Private Goodland, Normanby, Taranaki (Second Contingent), was formerly reported, and the first advice, received on July 16, about Lieut. Findlay, was to the eft feet that his wound was serious.
