DEATH OF LIEUT. BERRY.

NAPIER, this day.

A letter received by the Mayor from Major Jowsey announces the death of Lieut. Berry, of the Third Contingent, in Johannesburg Civil Hospital on June 3. Lieut. Berry, who held the position of captain of the Napier Guards previous to proceeding to the front, was very popular. His wife and two children at present reside in Wellington. •
