A MARKED INCREASE,

WELLINGTON, this day.

The total quantity of gold exported from the colony last month was 39,678 ounces, vahie £151,853. This total was made up as follows: Auckland, 15,099 ounces; Nelson, 228; Westport, 1187; Greymov^th, 8772; Dunedin,, 14,392. The increase for July of this year over the corresponding month in 1899 was 13,840 ounces, value £ 53,616.
