MONTHLY SUMMARY' REPORT
During the past month . prices generally have been maintained, but less business has been transacted owing to the fact that the principal demand was for the better grades, which are scarce, and difficulty was experienced in filling orders. Good East Coast advanced in price, and rescraped sold at fancy rates in small lines. Poor grades of gum had less demand. Exports for the month are to New York, per Otarama, 80 tons; Chas G. Rice, 521 tons; Star of Australia, 52 tons; to London, per Otarama, 178 tons; Mimiro, 16 tons; Star of Australia, 162 tons: toal 1009 tons. Supplies from mail to mail about 770 tons. The E. L. Mayberry has arrived at Wellington and comes on to Auckland to load gum for New York. Quotations are as follow",:— • Poor ordinary.. ..£35 to £42 Fair ordinary i £45 to £50 Good ordinary • £52 to £62 Superior ordinary £TO to £SO East Coast £80 upwards
