POLICE COURT.

YESTERDAY,

(Before Messrs McLachlan and Morran, J.P.'s.) Bye-law Cases.—James Martin pleaded not guilty to a charge of permitting a bus to ply for hire without exhibiting thereon. the number it was licensed to carry. Mr Reed appeared for the defence, and raised the objection that the license did not state the number of passengers the vehicle was licensed to carry. The Bench upheld the objection and dismissed the case. Similar charges against Benjamin Armitage and Harry Andrew were dismissed for the same reason, Mr Reed appearing for the defendants.
