Wind: Gale from between north and east and south-east at all places- northward at Thames and Manukau after 10 hours; strong easterly winds thence southward toi &USE Cape, Taupo, and Kaghui; .strong northerly winds thence to Napier and Ae\V Plymouth, and gale from between nortl and west and south-west elsewhere after eight to 12 hours. Barometer: Fall everywhere. ,Sea- Heavy on East Coast north or Jan ranga', and mi West Coast southward of Cape Egmont, and between Castlepoint and KTldesf a Hi £ h on Bast Coast northward of East Cape and southward of Castlepoint also on the West Coast south of Cape Lgmont; moderate elsewhere. ~n , .Hi Eain is to be expected at all places noithward of Thames and.Manukau, and south ■ot Kalkoura and Westp'ort. Warning signals for easterly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Dlenien and Tlrltirl, and for northerly ga es at Capes Campbell, Farewell Spit, and Foulwlnd. Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Northward of Lyttelton and Hokitlka pressure has continued to increase steadily, but there has been very little movement In southern districts. Low- pressure from west will pass eastward of the meridian of South Cape tomorrow, also one on the 4th. The weather has been fine everywhere, and there has been frost at Mongonul, Te Aroha, Talhape, Farewell Spit, Blenheim, Christchurch, Naseby, and Balclutha. .
