His Honor Mr Justice Conolly,took place yesterday afternoon In St. Mark's Cemetery, Heiuuern. .The ceremony was a private, one, and ,only relatives anil i a few Intimate friends were present. The chief mourners were the bereaved husband and Messrs Frank and Edward Conolly, sons of the deceased; Mr H. N. Brewer (Registrar of the Supreme Court), and Messrs S. Jackson, S. Hesketh, Alex. Rose, H. Campbell, John Lawson, and several others were also present. The Hey. w. Beatty read the jurlal service. Mr Justlco Conolly and family were the recipients of deep expressions of sympathy from all parts of the colony; and many beautiful wreaths and floral emblems were sent by friends. Our Thames correspondent telegraphs: "William Henry Francis Newman, one of the old identities, passed away this morning, after a long and painful illness, aged 55. Deceased came to Auckland In 1864 in the British Trident. He came to the Thames when the goldfields opened, and was one of the earliest oji the field. He' was occupied in mining, and was a keen volunteer, a member of. the old Thames' Scottish, and of the Fire Brigade, the Miners' Union, and Foresters' Lodge.
