BOWLING.
REMUERA BOWLING CLUB,
The annual meeting of members of the Remuera Bowling Club was held last evening in pavilion. Mr Thos. Flnlayson presided. The annual report stated the championship was won by Mr R. Hull. Members were congratulated on the success obtained by the ciuo in winning the pennant flag, champion shield and champion bowls, presented by the Auckland Bowling Association, the team skipped by Mr J. M. Laxon winning the championship. At the F.orthern Bowling Associa-: tion tournament the club stood fifth. Thanks were tendered to the ladles who provided afternoon tea during tho season. The balance sheei snowed a deficit. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The Chairman then presented the prizes to the winners in a few appropriate remarks to each recipient:—Championship1 Pair of silver mounted bowls, Mr R. Hull President's prize (full rink): Messrs Sibbald, Geo. Court, J. Macky (prizes not to hand); pair of bowls, R. Hull (skip). Vice-president's prize (full rink): Gold medal, Rev. W. Beatty; gold brooch and thimbles, Mr H. Maxfield ;spirlt flask, Mr R Hull; pair bowls, Mr R. Hull (skip). Mr Murdoch's prize: Dressing case, Mr Sanderson. Handicap singles—Mr J. M. Lennox's prize: A case of carvers, Mr H. Maxfield. Pairs' match (trophies presented by Messrs J. Brown and Walsh): Case shoe lifts, hooks, etc., Mr F..Hull; gold medal, Mr G. Bruce. The election of officers resulted:-Presldent, Mr Charles Ransion; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Court, J M Lennox, and Arch. Stevenson; committee, the Rev. W. Bciatty, Messrs J. Hardie. A. Walsh, J. Brown, T. Buddie. D Dingwall; secretary and treasurer, Mr A* Holden; auditor, Mr Sanderson; delegates to the Auckland Bowling Association Messrs Hardie, A. Holden, Laxon and the President (Mr Ransort). The Chairman then inducted the new president who took the chair. Trophies were then offered for next season's play. The following gentlemen were nominated for membership: Messrs n Spooner, jun., D. R. Caldwell, Jas. Hume G N. Pierce. Following were Pipcted hon. members: Messrs W. E. •Woodward. A. 9. Bankart, C, Reid, G. W. 3. Patterson, Elected life honorary members- Colonel Dowell, V.C., and- Mr G. k Main. The latter was accorded the same honour by the Devonport Bowling Club A vote of thanks was given to the outgoing officers, and a special vote, of ?hanks accorded to the retiring secretary (Mr R A. Bodle), and the treasurer (Mr a Kolden) The President moved a vote tf thanks to the retiring president (Mr T Finlayson), who had had to carry all the Sonslblllty in connection.so tar as the club was concerned, with the ten" tion to Bursts at the North Island Tournament and who had ably acquitted himselT The vote was carried by acclama : tion with threo cheers and musical honours and three cheers more for Mrs Fn"ayson ana family. Mr Flnlayson replied in appropriate terms on behalf of Mrs Finlayson and himself.
