THE THORNILL.
The T.S. and A. steamer Thornliill arrived from New* York via the South at daylight this morning. She is a ptepl screw steamer of 3231 tons gross and 20S0 tons net register, 351 ft In length, 45ft lv beam, and 2Jft In depth of hold, fitted with triple expansion engines of 307 nomlnnl horsepower. She was built at Sunderland In ISO" by Short Bros., and is owned by Taylor and .Sanderson, of Sunderland, but Is under an American charter. She is commanded by Captain J. Annison. The Thornhill left New York on May 11, and had a fair-weather passage to Port Chalmers, where she arrived on 13th Inst. Discharged cargo and proceeded to Lyttelton, where further cargo was put out. After landing cargo at Wellington the vessel left on Friday afternoon last for Auckland, ly^etlng flue weather to Hnwke's Bay, thence westerly gale to arrival. The Thornhill leaves to-morrow afternoon for Newcastle, probably proceeding thence to Java, to loud sugar for New York.
