ORPHANAGE INQUIRY.

NELSON, this day.
At the Stoke Orphanage Commission on Saturday Mr Hogben was the chief witness.. He stated what the dietary scales at Burnham and Cavershani are. The Stoke school property was better than Burnham. His opinion was that women and men should be in charge of the industrial school. He did riot appear to think the clothing of the boys at Stoke was quite sufficient in winter. Physically, the boys at Stoke, Caversham, and Burnham were much the same., All such boys were of lower physique than the average.
