Stewart and Ruddock faced off, and tlie former beat his opponent und sent the rubber oil to his attack, who got well up into Paruell's territory, where a lot of unnecessary scrambling took place. Finally Ward got pOHgegslqn, and by a long throw ltiul Grafton hunt defending. Moore-Jones got an opening, but could not succeed In getting the rubber past Kullendur. .Some fust, opeu play took place, ami the speedy attnekers of the Grai'ton team brougnt the rubber close to ParneU'B goal, and Graham smartly shot the rubber through the uprights. First quarter was soundeu shortly afterwards. From the face-off Parnell .made mutters look black for tlieir opponents, and two good openings were muue, but the weak play of the homes allowed the1 opposing point to throw well out of danger. The black and whites again attacked vigorously, and after a series of passing runs Gruhuiu shot the rubber under tUe posts a second time for Grafton. Uninteresting play at mldfield took place till half-time was called, lv the second spell Parnoll were the first to Invade opposing territory, but they were soon repulsed by Grafton's sturdy defence. Hurdingham at right attack got an opening, and after a brilliant ruu threw the black and whites' third goal. Parnell appeared to put more vim into their play now, and after several attempts Ruddock succeeded in securing their first and only goal. Grafton also livened iii>, and handled the ball with much more accuracy. Graham threw four more goals before "cease play" was sounded. Mr P. White gave satisfaction as referee. .
