SMOKE CONCERT.

The Grafton Association Football Club which has won the championship for the present season, defeating United, the champions of six years, celebrated their victory by a smoke concert on Saturday evening. The concert, which was held at Waters' Coffee Palace, was well attended, and was very successful. Mr J. McDougal presided, and was supported by the club captain, ,Mr J. Wright. A capital musical programme was gone through, items being contributed by Messrs Armlger, Battley, Brodie, McDougal, Clark, Makgill, Fernandez, Hodson Stead, Stokes and Weir. -The toasts honoured were "The Auckland Association " proposed by the Chairman, and responded to by Mr J. Heather; ""The Winning Team," proposed by Mr X Burgess, and responded to by Mr Wright; "Other Senior Clubs," proposed by Mr J. McDougall, and responded to by Mr C. Heather, and "The Press," proposed by Mr A. Goldle.
