'A TRYING JOURNEY.
LORENZO MARQUES, April 26.— Fourteen British wounded soldiers arrived last night in an ordinary second-class carriage. There was no doctor, and no provision had been made for the journey for food, etc. They arrived in a famished condition. Four privates, who had been wounded and Were still bad, had to be carried to the hotel, and are now carefully attended to by the Consul. *"
The French steamer has arrived with a further contingent of 75 foreigners going to the Transvaal.
Forty-seven British prisoners died in Pretoria during the last six months.
