VOLUNTEER NOTES.
THE COUNTESS OF RANFURLY'S CUP.
The contest for the Challenge Cup presented to the Auckland Infantry Battalion No. 1 by Lady Ranfurly was commenced on Saturday afternoon at the Mount Eden rifle range. Kach of the eight companies composing the battalion was represented by a team of eight men. The COOyds and COOyds ranges were completed on Saturday, and the remaining range (400 yds) will be fixed next Saturday, when La.dy Ranfurly wll(be present to hand the cup to the successful team. The following are the scores registered on Saturday:—
