NEW PLYMOUTH, this day,
For the nine months ended 31st May 167,121 packages of butter and 17,809 packages of cheese were exported from the Breakwater. The total estimated value is £420,545. Last year's figures were 147,709 packages butter and 14,112 packages cheese, valued at £323,042.

In the Supreme Court to-day, before Judge Edwards, James Pope, for assault on his wife, was sentenced to three j'ears' imprisonment. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
The boy Heenan, who was knocked down by a horse in Queen-street last Week, still remains in an unconscious state at the hospital, though the accident happened a week ago. The lad Hodgson, who was severely kicked in Parnell last week) is reported to be slightly better.
At the Police. Court this afternoon Edward Brooke Smith was charged with, riding a bicycle on the footpath in Parnell, to the obstruction of pas-sers-by. The evidence showed that the cyclist rode past three people walking on the footpath, one of whom drew back to let him pass. His Worship held that to ride past persons on the footpath amounted to obstruction. Defendant was accordingly convicted and fined 10/-and costs (£lll/).:'
