UNIFORM ACTION DESIRED,

WELLINGTON, this day,
The acting-Premier has sent a telegram to members of Parliament and chairmen of local bodies, stating that the Government is arranging for a general holiday upon.the proclamation of peace, and deprecating independent action in. various parts of the colony. Mr Ward urges uniformity of action throughout New Zealand, and intimates°that the date of the celebration will be announced as soon as possible after the news comes to hand.
