THE OVALAU.
The s.s. Ovalau arrived from the Eastern Pacific this morning with a large cargo of Island fruit. She was delayed by the amount of cargo to be collected from the various islands. After inspection by the health officer the Ovalau berthed at the No. 2 Jetty to discharge. The purser, Mr J. A. Tubby, reports:—The Ovalau left Auckland on 9th ult., reached Burotonga on 17th ult., left that port same date, arriving at Papeete (Society Islands) on 20th, departed on the 22ud, reached Huahiue on the 23rd, left same day, arrived at Kaiatea on the 23rd, and departed same date, anchored off Karotonga 0 a.m. on the 20th, loaded fruit, etc., and left for Auckland 10 p.m. on 27th ult, arriving as above. Experienced line weather with variable winds to within 350 miles of Auckland, when fresh N.E. winds with high sea set in,.lasting to port.
