BOWLING.
NEWMARKET WINTER GREEN*.
On Saturday afternoon the Newmarket Bowling Club opened their winter green. Mr G. G. Laurie, president, welcomed the visitors present. He said It had been stated that the Newmarket Club was running: this green with the object of making money, which was not correct. The sole object was to create good fellowship and amusement for bowlers during the winter months.
The following games were played:— ; No. 1 Rink: Ashton, Yon Stumer, sen., Bevans, Ledinghnm (skip), IC. v. H. Y. Collins, Tims, sen., Tuornes, H. Kent (skip), 30. No. 2 Rink: D. Ross, Mackie, Garland, Crawford (skip)> 24. v. May, Tims, . Jim., Twldle, McCallum (skip), 18.'
No. 3 Rink: Spreckley. SehJschka. Wilson. G. Laurie (skip). 28, v. Cutler, Fletcher, Hnselden, Culpan (skip), 14. No. 4 Kink: Anderson, Dr. Laisbley, Elliott, Dunshca (skip), 20. v. A. Kent, Kayll, Prime. James (skip), 15.
Mesdames C. G. Laurie. J. Cahill, and H, Mackie dispensed afternoon tea.
