HAURAKI NO. 2.
A start has been made to drive south lon the leader, which is from 4 to 6 inches thick, and looks very promising for gold. The manager expects to cut a mineral vein about 12 to 14 feet ahead, and then expects to get gold. IMPERIAL. The reef formation appears of better quality, and a still further improvement is expected. The South drive at No. 2 level has not yet revealed any improvement. NEW GOLCONDA. The leader has been cut in the intermediate drive after ">0 feet of driving. The leader is a nice looking body of ore, with very goo^indications indeed, and although no gold has been seen, the manager believes he may come upon some any day. Breaking down will take place during the week. The place where the leader has been met with is near the centre of the property. WELCOME FIND. Mr E-. C. Carr sold by auction at his mart the Welcome Find licensed holding, Coromandel, together With all the j plant and buildings belonging to the i company. The plant included 40 horse j power pumping and winding engine, ! also tubular boiler, Tang-ye pump, : wire rope, pipes, winding- cage, poppet j heads, tools, etc., together with the en- j gine and boiler bouse. There was a ] good attendance. Mr J. J. Craig leG j off with a bid of £100, and ultimately became the purchaser of the whole lot as a going concern for £305. It is understood the purchase was made on behalf of the Hauraki Freeholds.
