At 7.30 a" procession of torches left the station en route for Mr T, Walker's paddock, after a' bonfire took place at S p.m., with a great display of fireworks and bombs prepared for the occasion.The effigy of Oom Paul was placed" 6n a chair and put in the middle, of the fire, and then exploded by a bomb, prepared by our. local .black-, smith, which sent Kruger sky high. The fragments were eagerly sought for and kept. The proceedings ended by singing "God Save the. Queen," and "Rule Britannia." Three hearty, cheers were given for "Our Bobs" and Baden* Powell.
