MOUNT WELLINGTON.
The annual statutory meeting of the Mount Wellington Roard Board was held yesterday afternoon in the Ellerslie Hotel, Colonel Dawson presiding. The annual balance-sheet was read. It showed that the total receipt for the year were £1055 13/11, and the expenditure £664 3/6, leaving a credit of £391 12/5. To this was to be added a balance of £6 from the contractors' deposit account. Against the gross balance was a liability of £215 18/6, which would leave £ 181 13/11. The Chairman was authorised to ask the Inspector of Police that the local constable be instructed to inspect and report on all back buildings in the district. It was decided to communicate with the Pakuranga Road Board, requesting the tarring and sanding of the Tamaki Bridge.
The annual meeting of ratepayers was then held, Colonel Dawson presiding. The balance-sheet was read and adopted. The Chairman stated that the Board had 27£ miles of roadway under their control, and everything was working satisfactorily.
The ordinary Board meeting followed, and Colonel Dawson was reelected chairmnn for the ensuing yenr. A request for the cleaning out of the open drains in Robert-street was referred to the Chairman, with power to act. It was decided to o^H for tenders for the formation of a footpath in Onslow Road.
