THE ISOLATED BOY.
(To the Editor.} ) Sir, —I would like to make a correction in "Anti-Scare's" letter, in your last night's issue, in which he states about nine days after the boy was bitten the hand became discoloured, and that I rang up several doctors, and none being- in I took him to the ' hospital. The facts of the case are that the bo\^ was bitten on the Tues-' day night, and sent home to me to bind his hand, which I did. He never ; complained until Fridaj^ morning', the ; third day a.fter the bite. I sent for I three doctors; the third one sent two powders and said he would be down in the morning-, but did not come, j j I sent for a fourth doctor, who attend- : ed him until Monday afternoon, when j ! I expressed a wish to ha?e him in. '
the hospital, and took him on Tuesday i morning, it being then only the fifth ' day after the boy complained. It is now sixteen days since he was bitten Iby the rat. Dr. Baldwin assured me j yesterday he was doing well.—-I am, etc., THE BOY'S MOTHEK.
