AVONDALE JUCKKY CLUB AUTUMN MEETING. The first Jay's racing of tlie Avoudale Jockey Club Auiuiuu Meeting yesterday IJUhsed 01l most successfully. There was a capita) attendance on all parts of tlie course, The racing was noticeable for large lieidi and .some keen finishes. The field wore dismissed to an even start. Daymree was first to show out in frout, followed by The Needle, and the pair came into the straight a length in front, of Firefly, with the rest of the held close up. At the turn out of the straight Dayntroe, Doctor, Canopus, and The Frenchman were racing in line, but in the run up the buck of the course Knight of Athol went through tho nolil, ami li" reached the home turn a length In front of Doctor and Dayntroe, with cue rest o. I He held well bunched. About 200 yards from home The .Needle was brought with a good run, and overhauling the opposition in great style he won by a length, while St. Ursula and Laetitla fought out the issue for second honours, ending in the pair being separated by a neck.
