The Ellerslie trainer, J. C. Booth, is handling a couple of juveniles, viz., bay filly by Hotchkiss—Sapphire, and a filly by Soult-Kose and White. _ I understand that the American stallion Gilead js to be shipped back to San Francisco by the mail steamer, leaving on the 16th inst. Sequence is greatly fancied for the A.J.C. Doncaster Handicap. There appears to be some doubt about Oingo and Axitaia being brought to AucklandMr E A Joel has deckled -to return' South.' He let Ked Lancer go yesterday for £60 to Mr W. Curtis, a well-known figure in racing circles. Seahorse has been thrown out of Trotting Club meeting at Epsom next Saturday. The A.J.C. Spring Meeting opens on Saturday next. Seahorse was scratched at 12.10 yesterday for the A.R.C. Century Stakes. A ' Press Association cablegram from London says that at the Ellington Hunt Meeting the Australian horse Erl King ran second in the Trial Plate. Survivor is scratched for the City and Suburban Handicap.
