WELLINGTON, this day.
The report of the Royal' Commission of inquiry into the" best means oi preventing the spread of sparks from locomotives contains claims from Auckland province amounting to £2000 compensation for loss by sparks from railway engines. The Governor returned "to Wellington to-day. Sheds at Auckland will be placed at^he disposal of the Westinghouse Brake Company by the railway department for fitting up Auckland lines with brakes.
