THE ENGINEER VOLUNTEERS.

llr W. Ju Napier, M.H.E., has forwarded the following1 letter to Wellington regarding the equipment of the Engineer. Company:-~lMie Honour. able the Minister for Defence, Wellington.—Sir,—l beg to bring under your notice the fact that the local company of Engineer Volunteers has not yet been supplied with its proper equipment. Of course, you will understand that without equipment the company can make no progress towards achieving the objects for which it was formed. I trust that no further delay will take place in having- the corps properly equipped if it is intended to allow it to remain as a volunteer company, as its continued existence with" out equipment makes it comparatively an unreality.—l have, etc. (signed) W. .T. Napier.
