CONTRIBUTIONS FROM LOCAL
BODIES FIXED,
At the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board meeting yesterday, the Finance Committee recommended that the amounts to credit of the Costley and Gamble trusts, now in maintenance account in the bank, be placed on fixed deposit, before March 31st; that the. estimates for income and expenditure for the year 1900-1901 requiring the same total amount of contributions from local bodies as last year, be adopted by the Board; that a circular be sent to the contributing local bodies asldng for a return of the rateable values of rateable property in their respective districts for the year ending 31st March, 1900, and that the contributions required for the year 1900-1901 be levied \ipon these valuations. The recommendations were adopted. The estimated credit balance of the Board on 31st March, 1900, is £422 4/. The estimated expenditure inl9oo--190l is £18,700, made up as follows:—Hospital, £10,500; Costley Home-, £3650; charitable aid, £4000; office administration, £550. The estimated income is as under: Old age pensions, £900;
hospital fees, £3000; Costley Home fees, £900; charitable aid recoveries, £250; interest Costley Home bequest, £53; balance of assets brought down, £422 4/; total £5 525 4/, leaving a balance to be raised by contributions and Government subsidy of £13,174 16/.
