I Maratoto shares advanced in price ! to-day on the Exchange. Yesterday 1/3 was the best offer, but this morning
1/7 was quoted by buyers, and later on jl/9 would have been paid, but holders : asked 2/. Tairua Broken Hill shares were on the other hand easier, being sold at 3/, -with sellers quoting at the same rate and no offers above' 2/6. N.Z. Crown shares were a title firmer, being wanted at 13/6, and buyers of MayQueen advanced to 2/7 but holders asked 3/. In cheaper lines inquiries were made for Kuranui Caledonian shares at 7kl, Monowais at 6d, and ' Ohmemuris at, 2*d. Waihi E_tended3 again sold at lld, with buyers at-lOd. In standard lines Auckland Gas shares advanced 2/0, and National • Ranks firmed up to buyers at 59/ G.
