At Howick last evening a concert and dance were held. There was a full bouse. The Rev. Father Patterson presided, and in his opening speech thanked all -for their attendance, also the vocalists and instrumentalists for their services, particularly his non-Catholic friends, who had at all times been kind and gener-"■. ous. The following ladies and gentlemen sang and played in such a manner as to please all, judging by the frequent encores arid applause given: Misses Mull, ere, Brady, Roberts, Al-'' ford, Lindsay, Matson Kerr (2), Edwards, Messrs Gill, Edwards, Brady,, ''■ and Father Patterson. Mr Henry. Brady acted efficiently as M.C. Miss Mulkere and Mr Wm. Brady played for the dance. The concert was one of the most successful ever held hi Howick.
