THE LICENSING COMMITTEE ELECTION.

(To the Editor.)

Si rj —We are now on the eve of the triennial election for our City Licensing Committee, which may be considered one of tiie most important local bodies having jurisdiction in our midst, and seeing that this is the first occasion for the election of a Licensing Committee under the extended franchise, there appears to be a great deal of doubt as who may vote for., members of the Licensing Committee. Will you therefore kindly add a foot-; note to this letter stating who are. qualified to vote for members of ,jicensing Committee, and the districts or boundaries which comprise the city, over which the election to-morrow: takes place. By so doing you will, greatly oblige hundreds oi your subscribers.—l am, etc., ,

G. J. GARLAND.

[Everyone whose name appears on the City electoral roll compiled for tbe, general election held in December is entitled to vote at to-morrow's poll. The roll is identical, and those who found themselves disfranchised at the general election will, unfortunate!}*, be unable to register a vote for c Licensing Committee. It is not tlie municipal city boundaries that enclose the area within which residential qualification entitles to a vote, but the much more extensive electoral division of Auckland. The area included in the city electoral division is given in the notice of the hours of and polling piaces for to-morrow's election in another column.—-Ed E.S.]
