POLICE COURT.
: At the .Police Court this morning before Mr H. W, Brabant, S.M., Chris- I Una Larsen,. alias Clouet, was convicted on a charge of being found M 1 night without lawful excuse on the premises of J. Quthwaite, in Carlton Gore. Road. Accused was remanded for sentence till Friday, to see if the Charitable Aid Board would.take accused into the Costley Home. James Guy Little was remanded till Monday >, next on a. charge of stealing at Wai-:S kumete a sheep belonging to Philip Winton. A separation order was grjui.tr -' ed in the case Bailer v. Bailer, on the application of the husband, Frank Bailer. . Win. Kiley was ordered to pay 3/ a week in support of his child. X"' dence for the defence was called ins?'! the case against James Henderson, charged with torturing a pigeon on : December 22nd, at Epsom, by shooting at and wounding it. The defendant stated that the'first.bird he shot, he killed immediately by wringing its neck, and the second was killed in« stantanecrasly by the second shot. J\fr Tunics, for the defence, submitted that this did not constitute torturing, nnfl further that the prosecution had not ; ||] shown that pigeon matches were illegal. His Worship reserved judgmental till Tuesday next.
