LONDON, March 6.
It transpires that four hundred Boer women visited Pieters Hill, where the recent stubborn fig-ht took place, to celebrate Majuba day.
All escaped excepting two. . LONDON, March 5
General Buller reports that his casulaties from February 14 to the 27th, amongst the rank and file, totalled 127 killed, 919 wounded, and 57 missing. The chief losses were amongst the following regiments:— ~. East Surrey: Thirty-one killed, and 105 wounded. • ■ . • -.- •West Surrey: Seven killed, and 108 ■wounded. . . ■• ; . Lancasters: Twenty killed, and 12.8 wounded. • • Devons: Five killed, and 76 wounded. West Yorks: Six killed, and 81 Wounded. Boyal Fusiliers: Two killed, and 57 grounded. . r All belonged to the second battalions of the regiments named. The First Battalion of the. South Lancashire Regiment had 10 killed, and 81 wounded.
Eifle Brigade: Eleven killed, and 79 wounded.
The late besiegers of Ladysmith are recuperating- on the Transvaal border.
