THE OVALAU.
I The s.s. Ovalau arrived from the Society and Cook Islands last night, and after Inspection by the health officer berthed at the wharf this morning. Mr J. A. Tubby, the .purser, reports that the Ovalau left Auckland on 13th ult., at G p.m., and reached Rarotonga (Cook Islands) at 4.30 a.m. on 20th; left 11 a.m. same day; arrived Papeete (Society Islands) 1.30 a.m. on 23rd ult., left that port 5.30 p.m. on 25th ult.; anchored off Rarotonga 3.30 a.m. on 28th ult., and left for Auckland 7 p.m. same day, arriving as above. Experienced'fine weather to Papeete and heji:\ly rains during vessel's stay in that port, followed by fine weather, to arrival at Auckland. The Ovalau made a smart trip, arriving before she was expected.
