Condensed Correspondence.
We have two letters re Birkenhead Show. "A Member," replying to Mr Jones' complaint that only a certificate ■instead of a prize was awarded to Lady Belle says that, "After receiving such poor support at previous shows in the pure-bred classes, the committee decided to give certificates only, until such time as there was a likelihood of receiving entries from two or three exhibitors." "Fair Plarv" objects to exhibitors acting- as stewards of the show.
A. Stewart remarks upon the fact that while the crowd at Capetown compelled the officials to hoist the British flag on Parliament House there to celebrate the late victories, we are informed that the Chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board would not ■allow the flag to be flown over the Board's premises on the same occasion.
