THE FUTURITY STAKES
MELBOURNE, February 17.
The V.A.T.C. continued their meeting to-day at Caultteld. The following is the result of the event:— THE CAULPIELD FUTURITY STAKES of 2000sovs. Seven furlongs. Mr J. Wilson's (jun) eh c Palmer, 2yrs by Pilgrim's Progress—Zeph, 5.10.... 1 Mr M. Quinlan's br g Olaf, Gyrs, by Malua—Thelma 11., 8.10 2 Mr W. R. Wilson's br f Songbird, 3yrs, by Bill of Portland—Melodious, 6.13.. 3 Betting: 3 to 1 against Kinglike, 4 to 1 Olaf, 7 to 1 Palmer.. Songbird was first in the straight, but at the distance Palmer came away, followed by Olaf, and won by three quarters of a length. Time, 1.295.
