SHEEP FAIR.
Mr W. J. Hunter held his first sheep fair of the season at Ohaupo on Wednesday. About 20,000 sheep were yarded, all of good class. Heavy rain fell all the morning, and as the weather has been very dry for some time past, It was expected that this would put from 6d to 1/ a head on the sheep, but strange to say the prices realised were not equal to those obtained at Messrs McNlcol and Company's fair held a couple of weeks ago, and towards the close of the sale a decided drop was noticeable. The highest price was given for a line of 200 twotooth three-quarter-bred wethers from Te Mata, viz., 10/6, the balance were disposed of for 10/. The best price obtained for fat wethers was 10/1. Lambs fetched from 3/7 to 7/; two-tooth ewes, 6/3 10/G- 2-tooth wethers, 6/4, 9/7; ewes and' wethers, 2/7 to 9/8; fat ewes sold up to 9/, and fat wethers up to 10/6.
